Preparing for GP Chiba
2016年11月21日 Magic: The GatheringThe Grand Prix draws closer...
And I haven’t played Doomsday seriously for about a month.
I played Dark Depths at every Grand Prix Trial, but I don’t need Dark Depths practice!
Yesterday, I played in a tournament in Hachinohe.
I don’t have a detailed tournament report this time, because I wanted to focus on playing.
However, the results were unacceptable.
1-2 Lands
2-1 Elves
1-2 Soldier Stompy
0-2 WUR Delver
2-1 Boseiju-Tell
I made many unacceptable mistakes:
Against Elves, I lost Game 2 because I forgot to return my 4th Doomsday to my sideboard after Game 1. My opponent mulliganned to 5 and still won this game.
Against WUR Delver, I lost Game 2 to the worse sequence of mistakes I ever remember making.
I cast Duress to check for counters. My opponent has no good counters, and I take a random card (instead of an important card).
Then, I cast Brainstorm to win the game, but I returned my cards in the wrong order.
After that I activated 2 LED to cast Doomsday from the top of my library (I only needed to activate 1), and I drew Duress instead of Doomsday.
I deserved to lose.
Against Show and Tell, I almost lost Game 1 because I didn’t keep track of life correctly, so I missed a possible natural Tendrils kill.
In Game 3, I cast Doomsday, with Shelldock Isle in hand, and I knew my opponent had Show and Tell on top of his deck.
I made a weird pile putting Laboratory Maniac under Shelldock Isle and allowing me to recast Doomsday, replay Shelldock Isle, and put Emrakul in it.
However...Cast Emrakul beats Show and Tell Emrakul, and my plan could never beat Show and Tell Omniscience.
